A very sad event has occurred. Al's younger brother Bruce died suddenly on April 24th. We have been in Massachusetts with Al's family for the past two weeks. Today we are flying back to Guadeloupe where we left the boat in a marina.
Bruce was a beloved friend to many people in the towns where he lived his whole life, Fall River, Massachusetts and Tiverton, Rhode Island. Please keep Al's family in your thoughts and prayers especially Bruce's wife Angie and Bruce and Al's dad Al.
Oh, I am so very sorry to read this. When we were passing thru the Domican Rep., when we arrived we got word that Byron's mom had died suddenly. You feel very far away at times like that. Time will help. My thoughts are with you.

Al--so sorry to hear about your brother. Life is very short, no matter how long you live. All the more credit to you for planning and executing your adventure. I have a place in Urbana now, in an exceptionally nice mobile home park, and am near my kids and grandkids. I have decided that my most important role in life now is Dad and Grampa and I love being here to help and share with them. I still have 2 boats in the marina. The Albin 27 is for sale, and I'll hang on to my little houseboat for a while. It's hard to leave the marina, and the boating life, but I can't complain about not getting a few miles under the keel in 15 years! Be safe out there and never get complacent about open water. I know you know that, but a little reminder never hurts. Would love to see you when you get back! My kindest regards, and deep respect for your convictions! Brion
